The area where this wine hails from, Scansano, is a small village in the Tuscan Maremma, and is known for a large population of wild boar. At home, it would be perfect to pair with grilled pork chops, pork tenderloin in olive oil, garlic, sage and rosemary, or grilled sweet sausages. Also, in Scansano, the local strain of Sangiovese is usually called Morellino, which makes this wine a natural with any of your favorite Chianti dishes.
